Detailed Application in Wall Putty:

HPMC plays three roles of thickening, water retaining and construction in the production of putty powder. Thickening: cellulose can be thickened, play a suspension, so that the solution to maintain a uniform upper and lower consistent role, anti sagging. Water retention: make the putty dry slowly, and assist the reaction of gray calcium under the action of water. Construction: cellulose has lubricating effect, which can make putty powder have good workability. HPMC does not participate in any chemical reaction, but only plays an auxiliary role. Adding water to the putty powder and putting it on the wall is a chemical reaction. Because of the formation of new substances, it's no good to take the putty powder off the wall, grind it into powder, and then use it again, because a new substance (calcium carbonate) has been formed. The main composition of lime calcium powder is a mixture of Ca (OH) 2, Cao and a small amount of CaCO3, Cao H2O = Ca (OH) 2-Ca (OH) 2, CO2 = CaCO3 ↓ H2O. Under the action of CO2 in water and air, lime calcium produces calcium carbonate, while HPMC only keeps water and aids the better reaction of lime calcium, and it does not participate in any reaction.
